FCC Allows Spectrum Access System Modifications in 3.5 GHz Band Interference Model

On June 12, 2024, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB) and the Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced a public notice allowing Spectrum Access System (SAS) administrators to modify the aggregate interference model in the 3.5 GHz frequency band (3.55-3.7 GHz). This change aims to enhance the management of Citizens Broadband Radio Service operations while ensuring continued protection for federal operations within the spectrum range.
